Rissóis de Camarão are Portuguese Shrimp Turnovers. A crisp, golden brown crust with the most delicious light and a little creamy shrimp filling in the middle. These are the most delicious tradition that we always enjoy with my fiancé's family on Christmas Eve!
For the Filling:
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup White onion, finely chopped
- 2 dashes Hot sauce, preferably Tabasco sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup Fresh parsley, chopped finely
- Kosher salt, to taste
- 1lb Shrimp, chopped(two to three cups)
- 1-2 cups Whole milk
- 1-2tbsp All purpose flour
For the Dough:
- 1 + 1/2 cup Water
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 + 1/2 tbsp Butter
- 1 + 1/2 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 +1/2 cup All purpose flour
For Cooking the Dumplings:
- 1 Whole egg, beaten
- 1/2 to 1 cup Fine bread crumbs
- Oil for deep frying
